Following a Marin County Civil Grand Jury report that urged local governments to speed up the transition to electric appliances, San Anselmo’s Town Council voted to approve an ordinance to ban gas lines from being installed during construction of new residences. “Phasing out fossil fuel infrastructure and transitioning away from methane gas is one of the most important steps we can take to address the climate crisis,” says San Anselmo mayor Alexis Fineman.
