The Garden Conservancy is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the completion of the Gardens of Alcatraz project, which oversaw the rehabilitation of Alcatraz’s inmate, soldier and resident–cultivated gardens through a partnership with Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy and the National Park Service. “This project exemplifies the enduring connection between people and nature, preserving a unique cultural landscape that enriches both our environment and our heritage,” says James Brayton-Hall, president and CEO of the Garden Conservancy.
