Marin County property owners who are looking to make their homes wildfire safe have some new options. Marin Wildfire Prevention Authority is offering reimbursement grants for creating defensible space, and San Rafael has a program that offers free vegetation removal. “While everyone wants to feel safe from fire, not everyone can physically or financially take steps to reduce their risk,” says Quinn Gardner, San Rafael’s deputy director of emergency management. “Our assistance programs make wildfire safety accessible to everyone.”
