We are ecstatic to tell you that we have been honored with a prestigious Eddie award for Best City and Regional Magazine Launch. The 2021 FOLIO: Eddie and Ozzie Awards took place at a gala at NYC’s Metropolitan Pavilion on October 14, and we were up against several other beautiful new magazines in this category.
The Eddies and Ozzies are essentially the Emmys or Oscars of publishing and are among the longest-running and broadest competitions out there for editors and designers. The organization recognizes excellence in all sectors of the publishing industry, and submissions are judged based on creativity and innovation.
We were evaluated by our peers — 82 judges who are experts in journalism or design, and my are we excited to be among a winning group that includes names like Variety and Southern Living. More than 1,400 publications were considered for awards and only a fraction walked away with awards. Eddies are awarded for editorial content and Ozzies for outstanding design. We also received an honorable mention for a Best New Magazine Design (Ozzie) award.
Marin Living magazine launched in May 2020, the height of the pandemic no less, and we are humbled and honored to be already receiving this level of recognition (you can read more about our talented team here).
Thank you to our readers, clients and community for helping make a success out of this small but mighty company founded to showcase the beauty and distinctiveness of Marin County. In our first year and a half, we already feel like winners. We are so excited about what the future holds for this magazine and this community. Thank you for coming along for the ride.
