This fall, the Marin History Museum will be back — and better than ever — in San Rafael’s Boyd Gate House, the historic building it previously called home from 1959 to 2014.

The City Council approved a three-year lease of the recently renovated site, and the museum is making the most of it. The centerpiece for the reopening is an exhibit dedicated to the life of prominent Arctic explorer Louise Arner Boyd, whose family’s estate the gatehouse was built upon.
