Bay Area Trendsetters
Jennifer Wundrow: Jennifer Wundrow Interior Design

High quality design made approachable.
What separates you or your business from the pack?
There are a lot of interior designers in the Bay Area, so our clients have a plethora of people to choose from. I believe that because we immerse ourselves in projects with all different aesthetics, we entice different clientele which gives every project a unique feel. I like to think that we are approachable designers and that we can mold and morph into any project — traditional, contemporary, modern, transitional and everything between. We love to challenge ourselves and I love being given the opportunity to try new things.
Have you noticed any trends in your industry?
I love a good wallpaper. I always have. I wouldn’t necessarily call this a “trend” though it seems to be becoming more and more popular. Wallpaper has an incredible way of transforming a space whether it is making a big impact in an unexpected place or adding a subtle texture to the background of a room, I can’t get enough of it.
What’s the most interesting new innovation you use?
Interior renderings have become an invaluable tool for our clients. Generating realistic views for the interiors helps the whole team really visualize how the space will come together. This does take extra time and comes with an expense, but in the end it proves worth it every time.
Do you or your business have a unique history in the Bay Area?
My roots run deep in the Bay Area — I am fifth-generation Marin County, sixth-generation Californian. My family and I live in the Dominican neighborhood of San Rafael, where we have a long history. The admissions building for Dominican University was my great-grandparents home.
