What makes your team visionaries in your field?
We are determined to shift the design and construction industry to an integrated approach. The traditional process (design first, bid out to contractors, then start building) is slow and dysfunctional. I know how to make design-build operate more effectively. I am a graduate of SCIArc and have been designing for 20 years. Todd has been building for over 30 years in a variety of environments. We have complete confidence in our team and know we can take on any kind of residential project. We can design, or build, or design and build. With our in-field expertise, we support the integrity of the architectural plan and help balance schedules and budgets.
Why is it important to have a clear vision for your business?
When you are very clear on the end-goal, you can be flexible in the path you take to achieve it. With design-build, the project can evolve with the client. At least 10 percent of design calls that take the project from good to great are made in the field. This process allows us to create beauty that is inherent to the client’s function and environment.
What new innovation do you offer?
We are a one-stop shop. We get the ball rolling with a permit set, start building and continue designing as we encounter opportunities in the field. Our process is responsive and organic.
How does your team’s vision and strategy manifest itself in your business practice?
We don’t go for trends or conventions. We bring together clients’ desires, site conditions, local environment and economic context, and build fast and well. We prioritize the partnership with each client and focus on the one project.
