When it comes to starting the year out on the right foot, nothing beats a spa day.

The Spa at Pebble Beach

1518 Cypress Drive, Pebble Beach

Located steps away from the recently reimagined Casa Palermo, The Spa at Pebble Beach is more than a spa, it’s a rejuvenating oasis for both mind and body. From the luxurious locker rooms to the relaxation area with cozy chairs and an enormous fire pit, every step of the experience allows you to melt further into bliss. If you are looking for something you won’t find anywhere else, the Lasapa Lelima Purification Treatment is the way to go. Developed by Cari Herthel, a member and councilwoman of Monterey County’s Indigenous Esselen tribe, the bathing ceremony is a spiritual experience. It begins with a body brushing, continues with a scrub made of locally sourced coastal white sage, salt and elderberry, and then moves on to a wrap, a Vichy bath and a light massage with oil — all delivered by Darci, a local healer who is both extremely gentle and wildly powerful. This is an incredible way to reconnect to yourself, your past, your future — and is the perfect way to start a new year.

Ritz-Carlton Spa, Half Moon Bay

1 Miramontes Point Road, Half Moon Bay

The Ritz-Carlton Spa has recently been renovated and every detail in the treatment rooms, right down to the artwork, oozes luxury. Paired with the new look is a host of interesting new treatments focusing on wellness (think vibrational sound therapy and intuitive energy healing) and our favorite is the CBD Ocean Escape. The treatment starts with a dose of CBD taken under the tongue and then moves into the massage with CBD oil, a deep tissue foot massage and reflexology for the head and face. The combination works harmoniously to decrease inflammation and balance the nervous system. This is a true escape from your day-to-day.
